How was your Spring Break? Mine? Well, it was incredible! We were able to get over 5 million in accepted offers and sales. The market like the ski hill had a very late start but it is awesome to see the action and continuing interest.
With the exemption from the short term rental ban and foreign buyer ban we fully expect that the interest from investors and relocating families will continue to grow exponentially.

Developments – The luxurious Feathertop Estates development is booming. There is a ton of construction happening in the area with new builds popping up all over the development. Foundations have been poured and constructed over the summer months, framing is taking place, and many chalets are in the lockup stage. This is exciting as we are starting to see them come together and ready for the finishing touches.
You may notice a large pile of sand at the bottom of Big White Road that will be used for the roads. Speaking of transportation, some more exciting developmental news is that the resort has commenced building the first phase of the $600,000 upper parking lot at Black Forest. This parking lot will hold an additional 250 vehicles!
The 
April, finishing up the first quarter, was a fairly strong month for real estate at the resort. Keeping up with the previous months thus far 2022. April saw 13 sales, a 40% decrease from April 2021, but saw an average sale price increase of 32% from the previous April. The average days to sell continues to see a decrease from April of 2021 and the homes at the resort are sitting on the market an average of 45 days.
Even with the average sale price hovered around half a million, we did see studio units go for under 100k! On the flipside we also saw luxury chalets go for over 1.5 million. The gap between highest and lowest sale price is good to see because it means that whatever your budget is, Big White Ski Resort can offer you what you are looking for.
The resort made many necessary changes in order to adhere to the new government guidelines. Such as being a no cash resort, adding sanitizing stations throughout, and capacity control. The mandatory face covering rule is being enforced along with maintaining social distancing guidelines. The resort strives to ensure visitors and residents alike are safe and have done a great job in doing so. Check out all of the resort’s new procedures and protocols 
Rentals at the resort also will be operating a bit differently this year. Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said the limits will be based on the size of the rental, but did not provide specific numbers or say when the order will go into effect. She said health authorities are working with the industry to determine those details. (source: 
In January and February of this year, we saw 60 new listings hit the market, 30 in January and 30 in February. Comparing it to 54 last year it’s not a drastic leap, but the sales are considerably higher with 30 total sales this year so far. 2019 saw 20 in the first two months.
